Fei Xin (1388-ca. 1436) was from Kunshan, near Shanghai. After doing compusory military service at Taicang, he was sent on several of Zheng He's maritime expeditions, beginning in 1409. His travel account, Xingcha shenglan (Overall Survey of the Star Raft), based on that of Ma Huan, was published in 1436.
